PriceRanker Privacy Policy
A1Tech ("Developer", "we", "us") provides this Privacy Policy to explain how the PriceRanker app handles user data and price tag photos.
1. App Features
PriceRanker helps users add supermarket price tag photos from the camera or gallery, compare them with AI, and review product names, prices, unit prices, and rankings.
2. Data We Handle
- Price tag photos taken with the camera
- Price tag photos selected from the user's gallery
- A combined JPEG contact sheet created from selected price tag photos for AI comparison
- AI comparison results such as product names, prices, unit prices, and rankings
- Server-side operational logs that may include request time, IP address, and processing logs
Price tag photos may unintentionally include store names, location details, payment information, people, or other identifiable information. Users should review photos before running AI comparison and avoid using photos that contain sensitive information.
3. How We Use Data
- To analyze product names, prices, volume, weight, or quantity from price tag photos
- To compare unit prices and provide rankings
- To diagnose errors, maintain security, and improve service stability
- To let users share AI comparison results when they choose to use the share feature
4. Photo and AI Request Processing
When the user starts AI price comparison, the app creates one combined JPEG image from the selected price tag photos and sends it to the AI processing server configured by the Developer. The app uses an HTTPS server URL for this request.
The app does not provide permanent in-app database storage for selected photos or AI comparison results. Photos and results may be removed when the user deletes them from the screen or closes the app.
5. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell price tag photos or AI comparison results for advertising purposes. To provide the AI comparison feature, the combined price tag image may be transferred to an AI processing server operated by or on behalf of the Developer.
If the user chooses to use the share feature, the AI comparison result text may be transferred to another app selected by the user. The selected app's own privacy policy applies to its handling of that shared content.
6. Permissions
- Camera permission: used to take price tag photos.
- Photo or gallery access: used to import price tag photos selected by the user.
- Internet access: used to send the combined price tag image to the AI comparison server and receive results.
7. Retention and Deletion
The app currently does not provide user accounts or permanent local storage for price tag photos or AI comparison results. Users can delete individual photos or clear the list in the app.
For deletion requests related to server logs or AI request data, contact us using the email below. We will review and process requests as required by applicable law and service operation needs.
8. Children's Privacy
PriceRanker is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that a child's information has been submitted, please contact us.
9. Security
We use HTTPS-based communication and take reasonable steps to protect user data and photos from unnecessary exposure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy due to changes in app features, laws, or Google Play policies. When we update the policy, we will update the effective date in this document.
